Today

Consisted of:

  • Catching up with Vince for an hour about life, God and the Church. (It may seem odd, but I’m really thankful to have great friends hundreds of miles away)
  • Getting re-certified in First Aid. It was just me and the instructor, we were in and out in an hour. Boss.
  • Lunch at Cool Moose Cafe and the chance to work on some stuff for camp. I can’t believe training begins in 1 week.
  • Going to the Lexus dealer to get a new key made for my car.
  • Shopping and thrifting. Finally got my sister and brother-in-law’s wedding present.
  • Working 5 hours at Outback. The last half of which I had between 8 and 10 tables at once. I haven’t worked that hard in a long, long time. Made $120. Worth it.

That’s about it. Hope you had a great day and sorry for this pointless post.

I’m just going to leave this right here.

This set of pictures never ceases to make me laugh. We downloaded a new app and this was his test run. Except, he was unaware it was going to take 4 pictures. That’s what makes it awesome.

LOL…

Goodbye August.

It’s the last day of August. It just hit me. September is coming, which means cooler weather will be on it’s way with bonfires, hot tea, and fall attire. These are a few of my favorite things. (The Sound of Music reference is for my mom.) A lot has happened in the past month.

School: It’s going great, I enjoy most of my classes, well, when I say most I mean 3 of the 6. But what I have really enjoyed is the fellowship and community that has continued to grow. I live off campus in a cool house with some great guys and it has made the stress of school far less severe.

Church: Wiregrass is still great, I’m thankful God has given me a place to serve and grow while I’m at school. I’m now helping with an 8th grade guys small group with my roommate Daniel and they are a handful, but a lot of fun to work with.

Work: I enjoy being back at work, even the days I don’t feel like going, like yesterday. I got to see an incredible thing last night. A woman I work with who doesn’t have a very clear understanding of God reached out to a woman in need and showed compassion to a lady and her family by buying her food. It’s incredible to see ‘non-churchgoers’ doing things like this. My friend Chelsea and I were able to have a cool conversation  with her afterwards. God is good.

Life: The hardest thing for me right now is how much I miss the people of Beaches Chapel. God really blessed me with incredible people there. I think about them constantly and often wish I was at home to be apart of their lives. But I have come to an understanding that God has me here at school for a reason and I must be faithful to where I am now. And though I may be separated geographically from them, technology has allowed me to stay in touch. Plus I’ll be at home this weekend and get to see them a lot. It will be a blessing.

If you’ve gotten this far, thanks for reading my ramblings. I hope you are having a good end of summer/beginning of fall. Be blessed.
